The diagnosis of the management of stocks of apprehended and or recovered wildlife products made available to the Forest Administration revealed enormous shortcomings related to the traceability and conservation of such products in the Republic of Benin.

Faced with this dysfunction, the Government of Benin requested and obtained the support of the African Elephant Foundation (EPIF) to set up Standardized Operational Procedures (POS) for the management of stocks of wildlife products including the digital storage system (SMS) and the strengthening of storage stores.

The objective of the workshop is the validation of Standardized Operational Procedures (SOPs) for the management of stocks of wildlife products in the Republic of Benin in accordance with national legislation and international conventions including CITES.
