Biomathematics and Forest Estimates Laboratory
The Laboratory of Biomathematics and Forest Estimates (LABEF) is part of the school of environmental planning and management at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences. It was born a few years ago and worked and grew in number until its official creation on May 27, 2014 and inaugurated on December 29, 2015. It is directed by Professor Romain Lucas GLELE KAKAI, professor of biometrics and forest estimates. LABEF is a research institution that aims to improve the understanding of biological systems through the effective use of biomathematic tools for the development of sustainable forestry and. The activities of the laboratory focus mainly on fundamental and applied research in Forestry and Agroforestry with a key focus on biological and socio-ecological modeling phenomena. Based on this knowledge, the Laboratory works to develop and popularize statistical methods and innovative solutions for forest restoration and management, for the optimal delivery of their multiple ecosystem services.
