The rational management of natural resources, both physical and biological, is undoubtedly one of the main challenges of the future that concerns all Beninese from North to South, from East to West. The results achieved by the various interventions in the field of conservation and rational use of resources fall far short of expectations. Much remains to be done and this strategy and action plan document gives new life to the issue of managing wetlands in southern Benin in this case and transboundary wetlands. The overall objective set by this action plan is to promote awareness of the local adaptive management of natural resources in accordance with the principle of sustainable development and the endogenous practices specific to local culture.
