This document is a presentation of the MRV project submitted by CEIBA-NGO. The first phase of the project was the establishment of a biodiversity monitoring system in Benin. the second phase was the assessment of the state of the national forest cover: trends, effectiveness of interventions and implications for decision-making. The objective of the project was to link natural resource management policies and initiatives with trends in the loss or gain of national forest cover in order to inform about the effectiveness of these management measures taken at the national level and to formulate recommendations aimed at a significant improvement in the sustainability of forest cover.
