Since the historic National Conference of the Living Forces of the Nation held in February 1990, the Republic of Benin has been resolutely committed to a dynamic of sustainable human development. Learning from the failures of
the application of previous development policies, decision-makers have shown the political will to take into account the resolution of a number of major development problems, including water resources and climate.
This analytical essay presents the state of play of these two
problems, the opinions of some specialists and suggestions for their optimal management.
