The project to Strengthen the resilience of the energy sector to the impacts of climate change in Benin, also called PANA Energie, should support the Government of Benin's climate change adaptation strategy and reduce the vulnerability of rural and urban communities to climate variability through resilient energy production, transport and distribution on its territory.
The project responds to the second priority intervention identified during the 2008 PANA in Benin: “Reducing the vulnerability of populations to the consequences of climate change by offering them better access to renewable energy sources and by protecting forest resources”.
