By participating in the United Nations Conference on Environment and
Development (UNCTAD) held in June 1992 in Rio de Janeiro, Benin demonstrated its unreserved
commitment to the problem of sustainable development. After this
meeting, the International Community and our country have continued to work for sustainable
development with the major challenges of creating local wealth, national
growth and social progress. This Report is very useful for Benin in terms of the challenges to be met in
terms of governance,
sustainable development and sustainable production and consumption patterns.
