The coastal zone of Benin between 6°10' and 6°40' N and 1°40' and 2°45' E is limited to the north by the crystalline peneplain of Middle Benin, to the south by the Atlantic Ocean, to the south by the Atlantic Ocean, to the east by the Atlantic Ocean, to the east by Nigeria to the east by Nigeria and to the west by Togo. It is home to almost 50% of the population of our country. Land use is marked by near saturation with a tendency towards a grey scenario if nothing is done. In terms of climate, the zone is surrounded by a climate called “Beninian” or Liberio-Guinean characterized by four seasons. Its vegetation consists of a coastal lawn, dense humid semi-deciduous forests, savannas, mangrove, swamp forests, fallow lands and plantations.
