The present workshop on the “promotion of traditional vegetables: What strategies for the conservation and sustainable use of these resources in Benin?” ” organized at INFOSEC (Cotonou), on 11 and 12 December 2008, aimed to arouse the interest of decision-makers on the need to integrate traditional vegetables into diets for a better contribution to food security as a strategy for the sustainable use of biodiversity. More specifically, the actors discussed the achievements of the project, activities to promote these vegetables and analyze the prospects to ensure the sustainability of the achievements Four sessions were covered during the workshop: an introductory session, a plenary session on the state of play on LTs in Benin, a group work session on the promotion of LTs in Benin, a group work session on the strategy for the promotion of LTs. This report provides an update on the work of the workshop.
