Benin's 2011-2020 strategic plan set 20 goals, which align with the so-called Aichi Targets, which aim to guide the international community's efforts to protect the planet's biodiversity. In this logic, the present project was of paramount importance because it supports two priority objectives, which are: “Strategic Objective 1: To encourage and develop among all citizens, Civil Society Organizations and governments, a greater awareness of the danger of the continuing loss of Biodiversity 2 and a real motivation to act for its conservation, valorization and sustainable use” and; “Strategic Objective 4: Significantly reverse the trend of impoverishment”. habitat degradation and degradation natural, including forests.” These two objectives were selected as part of the implementation of the Measuring Reporting and Verification (MRV) project aimed at choosing and developing biodiversity indicators in Benin. It was therefore important to popularize these results to raise awareness among actors so that new heritage managers could integrate these results in order to improve their management methods and enable the local population to better understand the importance of maintaining these services.
