The challenge to be met in 2020 is a noble one and deserves to be evaluated given the multitude of resources injected into the field of biodiversity. The progress made in achieving these objectives therefore needs to be measured in order to be in a position to be in a position to formulate relevant guidelines as part of the review of the various strategic plans at the conferences of the parties. The definition of national objectives and the use of milestones and indicators are therefore fundamental for the implementation and evaluation of the 2011-2020 National Biodiversity Strategy and the achievement of the Aichi Targets at all levels. It is therefore for this purpose that Benin, following the call for projects from the Royal Institute of Natural Sciences of Belgium and the Capacities for Biodiversity and Sustainable Development (CEBIOS), has prioritized potential indicators and set up a database to monitor the progress made in terms of conservation, sustainable use of biodiversity and the sharing of benefits arising from the exploitation of genetic resources.
