DAD-IS is the Domestic Animal Diversity Information System, managed and developed by FAO. It provides access to searchable databases containing information and photographs on animal breeds as well as links to other online resources on farm animal diversity. It also contains the contact details of all national coordinators for the management of animal genetic resources (RGAs). This site allows you to analyze the diversity of livestock breeds at the national, regional, and global levels, and to assess the situation of breeds with respect to the risk of extinction.
