The Hydrobiology and Aquaculture Laboratory (L.H.A.) is a research entity located within the University of Abomey-Calavi and more precisely at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences.

The primary purpose of the Laboratory is to train its learners in a better knowledge and rational management of tropical living aquatic resources.

The second major part of the laboratory's activities is research. It is structured around three main themes:

• Ecological functioning of aquatic environments;
• Biology and ecology of living aquatic resources (fauna and flora);
• Aquaculture
